1. Bæst
Bæst is a wonderful Italian restaurant with a modern and environmentally friendly twist. Situated on Guldbergsgade, it is one of the coziest places I have ever been. If you come to Guldbergsgade during the summer, you will first be struck by the inviting and friendly atmosphere. You'll see people laughing and sitting on benches, enjoying craft beer from the brewery next door or indulging in charcuterie and wonderful pizza from Bæst.
When you step in, you'll see their cozy bar and wood-fired pizza ovens, which I am amazed by every time I go. In the back, you'll also see a cooler for their meats made out of glass, and waiters gently cutting pieces of cold cuts. The waiters are extremely friendly and all speak English because most of them are from other countries.
The menu is rather simple but has all you need. I would recommend that you start off with the large charcuterie that comes with their freshly made cheeses from their own farm, and also an assortment of cold cuts, with homemade sourdough bread on the side. The pizzas they make are also delicious, and the dough... Oh, my. Bæst also offers amazing desserts such as homemade ice cream and tiramisu.
The cozy and inviting atmosphere, plus the simple but almost perfect food, make Bæst one of, if not the best, or should I say "Bæst," restaurants in Copenhagen if you are looking for good food and coziness. That is why it is number one on my list.
